Simple can lid storage

Not all projects have to be massive. Sometimes you just have to do a quick and simple one to have some fun.

We have some cheap plastic lids for tin cans as Elsa only has a half can of dog food for each meal, so we need a lid to reseal the can when we put it in the fridge. We’ve half a dozen of these and they just get thrown in the cupboard and we regularly ‘lose’ one for weeks on end as it fell down the back of the stacks of cans or something. So I decided to do something about it!

Just some calipers and 20-30 minutes in CAD to do a quick design and I had a model done. A couple of hours to print and it was ready.

It got screwed to the inside of the cupboard door, and now we won’t be losing any lids again!

Its amazing how useful a 3d printer can be, not just for printing props and other fun things. I’ve done many simple models such as door handles, drawer label plates, drill jigs, etc.
